Guys n Gals,

Going to change the filter and ATF in my 99 V8i Disco 1 autobox. I have got the parts, seals and Dex III fluid.

Whats the correct method to do the job, refill the box and get the correct level ?

I just have a Haynes manual and it says to take the car to a Land Rover main dealer (which seems a bit pointless for a workshop manual for the D I Y person) but makes me think that this could be an easy job to get wrong,

Advice needed :D

Dave:)

You need to cycle the gearbox thru the 'gears' with the engine running. This will ensure the ATF is pumped thru the box and the level on the dipstick is correct.

You could/should flush the box, but that requires you have twice as much ATF :)
