chances of my land rover being a right off?

Just looking where the body mounts to the rear crossmember - that bracket is bent inwards - has it pushed the body forward or is that me looking at the pic wrongly?

I think you'll find it is just the x member to body mount and the floor capping that are bent.

Ah no biggie then

just had the assessment done, dont even have to pay the excess for the repairs. now just got to book it in for the work, was gonna book it in today, but im got offroading planned for the weekend, and a hatchback wont be up to the job lol

Are they gonna fork out for an eggsorst without quibbling?

they should as its bent, unless there gonna re do it. hope i get a new unit, and deffo gonna try and keep the dented door.

You should get a like for like Courtesy car.. 14-15 months back a School bus (One of mine at the time) Went into the back of our L200 in the morning whilst on its way to pick up kids.. Luckily having a rear towbar prevented much bodily damage and it basically ment a nackered Tailgate, New glass in the Carryboy top, And some dents on the rear of the tailgate and a few cracked lenses.. And a few dents which "Somehow reached the sides of the car Which I swear the bus might have done ".. Well the bus driver admitted to having no brakes! so that ment he couldnt quibble about it and the bus company got a shafting by vosa for the buses..

Well we got a Brand new Shogun Sport with 10 miles on the clock! Becuase we had a 4x4 with a towbar, The company had to supply a Simular vehicle with a tow bar hence the Shogun Sport.. We paid nothing for the repairs and I think there was £10k damage and car hire came to nearly £6k! Cant remember how much it was a day but it was expensive.. Woulda been cheeper to buy us an older defender and let us have it ..

So if you tell the insurance companies you need a car capable of towing as much as your defender, they should supply you with a 4x4!

They normally wont let you keep it, I wanted the L200's old tailgate as it was repairable in my eyes, And they had to buy a full decal kit for the "Animal" and they only used the small "Animal" text as on the rear N/S quarter, And the kit for the tailgate.. Was hoping they would have left the rest in but they didnt.. Also got heated glass in the carryboy canopy! although not wired up..

Thing is garages normally want to keep the old stuff their self.. If you ask nicely about it when you go in they might let you keep it but its not often .. Although I think they'd replace it rather than repair it becuase of the time it would take, And well they are not paying for it!

lol, i reckon im better off with a hatchback as a student, as i can save some dosh on fuel
and also ill be to tempted to get it muddy and take it greenlaning lol

well its booked in for monday for the work that needs doing.
and my courtesy car will be an 08 plate peugeot 207 or similar vehicle
it will be like double my economy lol god ill miss the defender
