having read discovery2 difflock installation, www.discovery2.co.uk/Factory Diff Lock
i now want to do the same however centre diff lock lever is soooo expensive! (200+ pound)
is there any anyway i can find the lever cheaper as my transmission has 41D code and i want to use centre diff-lock when/if required?

modify a D1 lever?
how difficult is that? is it the bracket goes onto transmission that needs to be modified?

I fitted the D1 linkage a while ago and it's fine.

The TC now only has to shift power left and right on each axel as the CDL locks it 50/50 front to back. It only kicks in about half as much now and when it does it's effect on forward motion is much quicker with less need to "work the system". :D

Just make sure you also get the tunnel insulation from the donor d1, the non floating lever lets a lot of noise up into the cabin.

Locking nut on the spindle on top of the transfer box a 13mm 1/4 inch socket with uj attachment and extension bar going through the tunnel into the cab with a t attachment on the top and works fine

They will be a bit more sought after, so I guess the answer is yes. Wouldn't be much in it though TBH as there are aftermarket options.

I paid well over the odds for mine, late D2, all the toys, low mileage, only one in area, distress purchase.
