Central locking

your just finding what nonsense that is given in forums :) the operation is simple the remote fob signals the the security ecu to send a 12v pulse to the master actuator, this in turn operates and open and closes the four slaves.
so start with does the fob operate in setting the alarm and remobilising the engine? indicating the ecu is functional, is there a 12 v supply at the master actuator?
Just to add there’s only one fuse fo the central locking, its 15amp positioned the the upper aux fuse strip above the main fuse board.
Also was replacement doors an exact match electrically with the main harness ?
check that fuse and was fine yeah the wiring was exactly the same

Does the central locking operate with the drivers door key, if not move to the next stage and check the master actuator in the drivers door and move the actuators operating rod u may or not have to disconnect the rod connected to the lock, the actuator could just require a slight adjustment , also u should have 12v you will need a wiring diagram to give u the colour of the wire supplying the voltage, unless u know how to test wiring with a multimeter.
It’s just standard fault finding and understand the system being worked on, used before the days of forums :)
 
Yeah doesn't work with key either I got no power at the door but have got power at fuse 4
Right, then onwards to the master actuator in the door. From memory as don’t have any diagrams but i’ve had to readjust the actuator a couple of times, so have a look it will have 5 wires, one from security ecu control, a permanent live, two wires that go off to the slaves which are wired in common, finally an earth which is the black wire that’s five wires

Unfortunately it’s all very strange. If the CL was functioning before u replace the rear doors it should be now, even if the rear doors were not fitted both front doors and tailgate would still open/close.

Also won’t find a CL wire diagram in the Haynes manual for your model year of disco, it has one but for the 200 series. The Haynes manual is still worth having, depending if i wish to know how things work on older vehicles.
 
Okay, can you confirm that before downloading this 564mb file that is contains the correct wiring diagram for the 1996MY D1 central locking system, as my 1995MY copy of Rave doesn't, just the same as my good old Haynes manual :(
Didn't realise there were variations in the RAVE manuals, mine covers Disco 1 all models and Disco 2. I should think the bit of the wiring diags for the central locking would be the same unless they built it different for the North American market.

Nether did I, but if u say so. As far as i know there’s only two Rave manuals for the D1 one is for mechanical 1995MY the other electrical 1997MY which shows a diagram of the the 4wire master actuator.

I'll open mine and give you a screen shot of the contents page which shows tons of stuff! Freelander, RR, etc
You seem to only have parts of what I have. Maybe if you download from the link that I put up you might find you get a bit more!

Download, hold on :) I’m not the one thats in need for the information, it’s only that to help the OP with his central locking issue any links to Rave manuals are confirmed to contain the appropriate diagram, which it appears would help him get to grips with it, anyway he seems to be missing now 5days on.

All I can find in my manuals is that diagram for the D1 above, which is a copy from the Range Rover workshop manual in the days it wasn’t fitted with a security control unit with a remote control fob.

Sorry mate, thought that maybe you'd like to have a Rave with all the bells and whistles on it including a lot more about the subject/topic that OP raised, L6 in the manual, to be more precise. It is absolutely up to you what you download, just trying to be helpful to all and sundry who read this thread, as others have been to me. The pic I put up shows exactly how much is in the full RAVE.
It is from others on this forum that I got my full copy of Rave and I have used it a fair bit for both my D2 and my D1s both 300tdi and v8. So I am just trying to spread the happiness. Why am I defending myself for trying to help people? I give up!

You can get RAVE with TD5 as well,
