I own a 2001 FreeLander and have had no problems with it until the other day when the central locking just stopped working altogether. You can only lock the drivers door manually with the key. Even the boot has stopped working, it doesn't open even with the key. When I press the remote buttons on the key fob, indicator lights flash and the alarm gets activated, but the doors do not get locked or unlocked. Is this a fuse problem?

hi ciclain. . . .bin er lot written on this subject go into search an ave er read,but rear window not goin all the way ,micro switch in roof un reset of ya fobs are jist the start [big subject]. . . .oh un best of luck earthling 
Thanks Ming. Had a look, and can see any micro switch on the roof (it is a Free Lander V6 model). The boot door doesn't open at all, not with remote nor with the key manually. Key fob activates the alarm fine, but has no effect on the central locking. Unlocking the driver's door from inside, does not unlock other door either, so I guess it is the problem with the central locking itself not the fob. Thanks for your advice.

The key in the tail door handle is only there to wind up the window, it does not lock or unlock the tail door.
Check the inertia switch hasn't been tripped (under the bonnet on the right hand side behind the fuse box, its got a rubber button on it, push it down, if it clicks, it was tripped, push to reset)
check fuse 4 (80A) in engine compartment fuse box.
check fuse 15 (20A) in interior fuse box.
there is an earth point behind the center console just in front of the gear lever for the door latches, check it's clean and tight.
Check the pink and orange wires coming out of the ccu, these should switch polarity depending on lock or unlock (connector C0430 pins 7 & 9) you can see these wires coming out of the right hand side of the interior fuse box.
With the vehicle unlocked there should be power to the black/orange wire going to the tail door switch.
I do suspect a CCU fault if the fuses are good and the inertia was not tripped.
