Central Locking on 2003 TD5

Hi

We are currently having problems with the central Locking on our Disco, when you press the Key fob it will only unlock the drivers side and the boot.

The doors do not lock when the automatic locking comes in when you drive off, but the doors will lock with the key fob (they just wont open - you have to go in and open them with the door handle)

Any suggestions on how to fix this? does the whole central locking need to be changed?

Just reading your post there Jen, my 03 Disco only opens the drivers door when the key is pressed, I have to press it twice to get all the doors open. Mine doesn't lock the doors either when you drive off. Should it? Im new to Disco's.

key press one opens drivers door
key press two opens passenger doors
key press three opens boot.
Key press/hold on lock switches headlights on for 30 seconds

what happens when you use the dashboard locking switch to open/close the doors?

Holy cow man, just got my Disco didn't know about the press and hold on the lock to get the lights on. Real handy for the caravan site. No more fumbling for the door lock........... Cheers

Oh, my Disco unlocks all the doors and the tailgate on the second press. Should it lock the doors automatically when you reach a certain speed?

So how do you get it to lock the door when you start driving, I beleive its call "anti-hijack"......................

It has to be done electronically I believe, via a terminal talking to the cars systems.

If you have a Nanocom, that might be able to do it, otherwise it's a trip to the dealers.

the dashboard lock doesn't open or lock the doors. the doors all lock when you get out and press the key. They don't lock with the others when the car goes a certain speed (they all used to lock) the second press on the remote only opens the rear drivers door and the boot.

Did you come up with a solution for this? mine has just developed the same thing but only with one door (the nearside back door). Just as you describe it wont unlock with the fob, and doesn't lock when you drive away.

when i got my td5 only the n/s rear door would open with the fob the front doors and the tail door locks have now been replaced but they are £50-£60 each fitted a second hand one on the tail door £20 still to do the o/s rear door

if you hold the lock button on the fob for three seconds you get super locking which prevents the doors being opened from the inside if someone breaks a window

What is strange that I didn't mention is that it does lock with the fob so that would make me think that the motor is OK, It doesn't lock though as you drive away but all the others do.

it wont lock when you drive away unless its set up to it needs pluging in to do this i set my disco up to do this but changed it back but have never seen other discoverys do this anyway

did not know that the headlights just come on on my disco

It should unlock them if you crash

Just for information.

My 2002 TD5 unlocks drivers door on 1 push, all other doors,( including tailgate ), on 2nd.
It doesnt " auto lock " when you drive off, and it doesnt put the lights on if you hold down the lock button.

It is set up to lock on driving, all the other doors do and this one used to but has recently stopped.
