Central locking gone mad D1 300tdi

Today my Central locking has thrown a wobbly, open with fob and it keeps locking unlocking at random, if doors closed it stays locked, if door open it keeps open/locked action for a while then stops for a bit then does it again then stops, no pattern to it, has anyone else had this problem? Looking for pointers to the fault

Not any deep stuff, box has stayed dry, was thinking it might be a dry joint or something in the box though?

If you think that, then take it apart and have a look, it will be the security ECU and nothing to do with the immobiliser (spider). If u have one.

But I'd go straight to the master actuator in the door, it may not be fully unlocking therefore bouncing between unlock and locked, take the door card off and have a look what the actuators doing when the problem accurs.

Have tried locking unlocking with the key a few times the lock mech could be stiff and notmoving fully, if so the actuator may not move freely.

Have you sorted this now?

If not the symptoms appear to be similar to the fob button remaining pushed…either the button cover itself sticking or the switch inside losing its spring return.

Does it do it with both of your fobs or even when key operated?

Not had chance to sort it yet, had a weekend away planned and back to work today so will have to wait till thurs/fri when I'm off, it does it with both fobs and if I use the key, once locked it stays locked, it's only when unlocked it plays up ( but not always ) thers no pattern to it though so hard to source the fault
