hi everyone,
I have a small problem with the central locking on my car (disco 1, 1998 5 door)
when I bought it it didn't have nay locking or alarm or electric windows or anything and this wasn't a problem as I was only buying it to trash about off road. but I have found that the more I use it the more I love it and I am going to keep it as my main car and get rid of my shiney new one! I know I am crazy but that's just me.
so at the time I knew all this didn't work and it wasn't a problem, and to be honest I still don't know if I should fix it as it will most likely break when I go swimming with it anyway??
but for everyday driving the lack of central locking is the only thing that annoys me.
from what I can tell the entire alarm and immobiliser has been bypassed the alarm control unit is not plugged in I do not have a key fob so I am not bothered about remote locking. it would just be nice to be able to lock all the doors with 1 key.
where should I start in trying to get this working?
is the central locking controlled by the alarm unit? can I just wire the actuators so they all see each other and respond? should I just give up and lock them manually.
thanks in advance
