OK guys, reasonably new to p38 ownership and within a few weeks had the following issues.

1. Got locked out with the immobiliser stuck on
2. Battery went flat
3. EKA would not be accepted.
4. "Lights on" alarm was not working
5. Only 1 key would open the car and I couldn't sync the other
6. The key that would unlock would not lock the car

I have done some research and also had some great help from mozz smith and this is the results

1. I have replaced the RF receiver. Once replaced I was able to sync the second key. The procedure I used was the one documented on these forums, basically press and hold the lock button on the remote, insert into the lock, turn to lock and then back to centre. Once I had done this as soon as I pressed unlock the car opened and its been fine since.
2. I replaced the drivers door lock., once replaced all the other faults have cleared. I now get a lights on alarm when I leave them on and open the drivers door, I have also been able to enter the EKA code, mine is not any kind of default code but has come with my documentation. The procedure that worked for me is

1. 4 turns full to lock / back to centre
2. X turns to unlock (EKA digit 1)
3. x turns to lock (EKA digit 2)
4. x turns to unlock (EKA digit 3)
5. x turns to lock (EKA digit 4)
6. Now turn to unlock, if all is well all the doors will unlock and the car will start.

3. Regarding the issue about the key not locking the car, I noticed a "key in ignition" message even though there was not, I lubricated the barrel and put the key in / out a few times and this seemed to fix this issue, I now have all keys working and an EKA procedure that works. Hopefully I'll not need recovering again for this issue.

I hope it's OK to publish this, I realise all the info is elsewhere but thought it useful to share my experience.

Thanks mickwall, I recently start to have, what your are talking about...

Did you had also the "syndrome" of the car opening/closing the doors, while driving?
