I've exactly the same as that, tis a good bit of work by Eddie. He drives a freelander himself, all kitted out like. The Antenna won't hit the rear door, but go slowly if you're going under barriers as it will spring back and hit the roof. Won't to no damage like but makes an awful bang.

Is it a tornado antenna you're fitting?

to be honest im new to all this and am not sure wot antenna to fit. doesnt have to be the most expensive one in the world like. is that what you should suggest? any good sites to get one from?

If you're just starting out and want something cheap then a tornado will do you perfectly as they've already been SWR'd as well (otherwise you have to bother getting an SWR meter and tuning it). If you've got a Maplin near you you'll pick one up for about £20 i'd say. They're easy to spot (the ones with the big springs). I've just fit a 1 and half meter monster to mine, tis almost the height of the landy... again!

If you haven't got a Maplin, then ebay may be your best bet.

Actually... you're in Cheshire. There's a Maplin in Stoke On Trent if that's not too far from you. Or if you fancy a trip to Crewe i used to get all my stuff from a specialist shop called CB37 on Middlewich Street. He's got everything to do with CB in there but give him a call before you go just to make sure he's open. He'll have more choice than Maplin and will actually be able to advise you unlike the staff at Maplin.
