I have just reported my cat being stolen to the police and was amazed to find that mine was the 4th during the last week....
who is stealing them and more importantly, who is buying them?
The dastards used an angle grinder to cut through the pipe and clear off with the cat. Beware, this happened on a fairly busy street...
As you are aware, these are not cheap to replace.

****ing ****ers everywhere nowadays.
 
The trade have a recycling company that comes around buying the old cats, £25.00 a time. They may be stealing them to make easy money from the recyclers.
 
£25? We get alot more for them uo our way, they have platinum in them.

The local gypos trick is to open them up, get all the platinum out then weigh that in seperate, theres some good money to be made.

Unlucky about having your own done, they're probs hitting 4x4s cos they can get underneath wi the grider or sthil saw.

I'm a student at the University of Warwick; researching into demands for a catalytic converter safety system for vehicles. In light of the recent thefts and the increasing frequency of such incidents; do you think that there is a demand for such a devise that secures the converters safely to the car?

go waste yer time doing sometime else

seeing as none of the large car makers have found a means of preventing an entire vehicle from being stolen what makes you think anyone would be interested or able to design such a thing - pointless

if a thief wants something enough they will have it, whatever you do

A lot of us remove our cats ourselves. Stops em being nicked and gives more grunt to yer motor. Guess which reason we do it for?:p
