Catalyst worth fitting ?

I'm thinking of fitting a catalyst to my 300 Tdi, but with Land Rover wanting over £600 + VAT; I need convincing that it will make a worthwhile improvement to the emissions when I take it for it's IVA test at the DVLA. My engine is new, by the way. I'd like to know what readings everyone else gets with their cats.

It's not worth it, as long as the injectors are good and it's timed up correctly you'll be fine.

If you're really concerned add 50% veg oil to the tank, that will bring down the smoke test reading.
