What are you some kinda bondage freak? :p :D

Duct tape and insulation tape is all you need ;) :D

:eek::eek::eek:, Although I did read 50 shades

And I might not have needed the other stuff, but other folks have. For example Sarahs Dave might not have had a front number plate if it wasn't for my double sided sticky tape stuff :p

I can beat the lot of you.

Mine has an Indian Rug in the back, to go on top of the sheet of plastic and large rubber mat. Just in case I ever have to crawl underneath my Landy :D

It just seams to all accumulate in my landy.

I didn't even get on to the other bits like spare hoodie, warm socks, high viz jacket, overtrousers, blue roll

Pfft no bath towel ? :p :D :D :D

I'm just jealous :D

If we're talkin stuff other than spares I'll raise ya spare clothin :D :D

Various ropes, shackles, tree strop, hi viz top, shovel, CB, Flashy Orange beacon, thermos (in the winter), chocky bars ( specially snickers, stops me turnin into a deva ;) ), emergency blanket, waterproofs, travel rug. cuddly toy.

Do some of you have a spare car following you as you clearly don't have any room left in the landy for anything other than spares

I have a spare wheel - but took the jack out and the wheel wrench as I could no more get the spare wheel off the back to change it by the side of a road than I could fly to the moon - so that's an AA job - but come back to the adage - one puncture in 29 years

I have lots of things to keep me warm and a torch and a book and a pkt of fruit and nuts and a red bull in the cubby in the event of needing to wait for the recovery services

Only time i've ever broken down where i could have done with a spare is when the belt went (dont know what belt - and certainly couldnt have repaired it if i had a spare anyway ) but AA took me to my landy garage and got it sorted there .

If Im out and about daily driving - I coudnt fix it anyway , with or without spares so its an AA job . And if Im laning - the guys Im out with have tools and stuff and Ive never had a problem then anyway ....but Ive seen them work out very ingenious ways to get down from remote locations up mountains to a point where AA could recover them ...so I have great faith in their ability to sort something .

Just think where do you draw the line with spares - think its useful if you can do your own roadside repairs but whilst I know I could remove a prop shaft to get me home i - ( as I know how ) you know what i'd rather be recovered any day

Two punctures in my disco and one in my girlfriends car in the last week!!

Most of the previously mentioned things + a toilet roll, not for the landy but for me (obviously). If you do break down and have to wait for recovery if you need to go you need to go. That's definitely not a job for duct tape:eek: (no pun intended)

Two spare wheels cos I once had two punctures in 18 miles. Jack, set of spanners, oil and antifreeze in 1 litre bottles. Plenty of rag, cable ties/tape.

I assume I have got a jack and the original LR kit as I bought the Disco new but I've never seen them - except something for unlocking the wheel nuts which the mechanic uses when he changes my wheels for winter/summer.

I have got a spare wheel hanging off the back door. I know that 'cos I recently bought it a new cover so I saw it.

I have a mobile phone in the door pocket - just to use if I need help. We do not have reception here so I just hope I am in a 'goog' area if/when I break down.

There are a couple of rugs on the back seat that the dog sits on and

.... I carry my AA GOLD card! Don't ask me the relevance of the colour - it is black - but I do know that I have been a massive contributer to their cause since Dec 28th 1965!!!!

I forgot - I carry a few litres of fresh water for the dog and a box of Bonios in case her dinner time gets missed.

It is pointless me carrying any tools/spares 'cos i wouldn't know what to do with them and weight means higher fuel consumption ,they say.
I frequently travel in France for up to 3 weeks at a time and, apart from recovery insurance, this is the way I travel.

The only other thing I find essential is always to carry loads of euros, in cash and plastic in France and plastic in Britain.

Changed the auxy belts on both my td4 and td5 recently so carry the old ones as a get me home as they werent completely fooked. PAS fluid, pre mixed coolant and a spare bulb kit. Other than that just standard wheel taking off stuff that comes with the car. I dont even carry tools for changing the belts, its just for when mr RAC says " yer belts broke " I can say " there ye go" :D To be honest I did carry a big tool box at one time but it didnt help me much with things that did go wrong. Ive always managed to get home and only ti e ive had one o a lorry was when my old dad filled the td4 with petrol. Christmas eve no less.

I tend to think that if you carry a spare part or have a tool for something then chances are you won't need it. I've got fan belts, fuel filters, bulbs, lots of screwdrivers, circlip pliers, standard Land Rover Jack, bottle jack, little socket set, big socket set, spring compressors, viscous fan spanners, allen keys, nut splitters, WD40, bottles of water, a spare fuel pump, pots of grease, rubber gloves and a few rolls of kitchen paper - better than toilet roll. I've also got hand cleaner and Nurofen capsules, circuit tester, multimeter (but it needs a new battery) Locktite, instant gasket, big socket for hub nuts, slim socket for propshaft nuts, stilson wrench, hacksaw, little hacksaw, spare hacksaw blades. Mole wrenches, pliers, balljoint splitter, Nanocom fault reader, hammers. A tin box with assorted drills and screwdriver tips. And in cold weather I chuck an army surplus kitbag in with spare boots, socks trousers and jumper in in case I get stuck somewhere and get cold. Sounds like quite a lot just for popping to Tesco.

i've got a laycorn box full of tools and bits n bobs, and a jar with 2 of different sizes of bolts.

laycorn fits nicely between the arch boxes
