Managed to get the afternoon off today and seeing as it was nice weather i thought that i'd lift the carpets up and dry em out!
Having read on here a few times about the carpet underlay soaking up water like a sponge i thought i'd cut it out and bin it!!!
Didn't realise how thick the underlay was until i lifted the front carpets and it was soaking wet! Managed to remove all of it from the front footwells and have left the carpets up to dry out.
Checked the floor pan both sides and there is no rust damage and it looks very clean!
Glad i did it as i hate to think how long its been wet for!
Worth doing!!!
