I have a P38 Range Rover 4.6L. Since March, I have nothing but trouble starting the car. When I try to enter the car, the battery is completely flat. There is not enough power to open the car door with the remote key fob. I have had a two new batteries fitted. The ECU has been checked. An auto electrician has checked the car on a number of occasions. Each time it goes down to the garage, it is there for approx two weeks at a time. It starts perfectly ok every morning whilst at the garage. It appears the problem occurs when the car is parked outside my house. I have heard that radio masts may cause the air suspension to go up & down during the night and thus flatten the battery. I don't know if this is possible or not. The car has only been on the road for approx 7 weeks since Mid March so I would be very grateful for any help/Information anyone could give me in resolving this issue.

Do a bit of searching under 'mysterious battery drain', its one of the most common P38 problems - the remote alarm RF receiver waking up the BECM hence draining battery. #

Anything transmitting at 433mhz will do it. So thats remote weather stations, wireless doorbells, wirelss broadband router, other peoples remote CL just about anything that operates wirelessly will cause your battery to drain if you don't sort it out.

All your answers lie within, a simple hello would be nice to begin. Tales of battery drain all through the night, youve been given the answer, I am sure he is right.

If its a UK spec car and disconnecting the rf receiver stops all the problems, the latest spec variant will sort it.The part # is YWY500170,it does work,I've done loads of them, none have had problems after.
