I have just swapped my 90 for a RR 4.6 Vogue. It only came with Key 1 and the housing on it is pretty knackered. Ive gone to change the batteries however the battery cover has been knackered by someone with a screwdriver by the looks of it, so it is now worn down into a big gouge and i cant get it to shift. Any ideas help appreciated

Hold it gently in a vice and tap one end of the slot in the correct direction of rotation with a hammer and screwdriver. Get an overhaul kit off ebay before you start.

1. Use a coin, not a screwdriver
2. Note the tiny arrows on the cap and on the FOB, they need to be aligned for the cover to open
3. Rotate in the opposite direction of the curved arrow on the cover

Typical LR engineering

I have just brought a remote replacement buttons and battery from island 4x4 it was £6 i think also comes with new back cover. Can someone tell me is it straight forward to just change the button and battery or as tipicall with range rover do i have to make sure you dont do this or do that.

If the backing is a Genuine Part, it should come out with very little pursuasion provided you line both the arrows up. If the backing is Britpart, then they don't fit and very often the cover can't be rotated even when newly fitted.
