Can you replace a 200 tdi engine with a 300 in a 92 disco

Dont want all the details (yet) but can you put a 300 tdi engine into a 92 disco 200 tdi? if so, on a scale of 1-10 (1=easy) how difficult is it? Cheers

From what i can remember the engine mounts are in a different place or something which makes it a bit of a bugger of a job .............. i'm sure someone will correct me if i'm wrong though

Good 200TDI lumps can be sourced without too much hassle mate so go for the straight swap is my advice

It's a landrover anything can be done to them if you have the tools, time & skills and MONEY!! But it is a major undertaking to swap upto a 300tdi. Engine mounts need removing and rewelding, gearboxes are different. Gearlevers ar in a different position. Haynes would rate it a 50 spanner job.

Thought it felt different driving me 300 compared to me 200 .......... gotta say i prefer the 200's box though

Ere Red .......... are the transfer boxes the same?

Not sure I know the 200tdi has the LT77 box but I think the 300tdi has the LT230 transfer box fitted.
