The registration administration wants to see the VIN in three places on my discovery 1 in order to register it. In the engine bay, on the chassis and through the windscreen. The thing is I know it has the vin code under the windscreen, but it's all black on the rims and can't see it. The only reason I saw it is because I had to change the windscreen and I know the previous one was the same. Surely there must be some way around it? Besides changing the windscreen yet again with one that has that small window for the VIN... :(

I'm afraid only in the very east of Estonia would that work and maybe 100 euros... but it doesn't work at the centre where I am going. Estonians are very proper.

Just had a look at my windscreen at the VIN plate behind. The board black band across the bottom of the windscreen does partially obscure the plate but the number is visible when looking down between the glass and dash top, its only the top centimetre of the VIN plate that has the number.
My D1 has the factory fitted screen still, and no “small window” as some cars do have.
