Clue is that it was a pre production chassis, No 002 of ten built.

Never thought of that, sticks to my Disco chassis, thick mix of old swivel oil and engine oil, preserve it till I sell it in the new year![]()

I'd go galv or some serious waxing
Tried to get my TVR chassis powder coated a few years ago, they shot blasted it but the tubes are oil/wax/grease filled and it was running out when they heated it to powdercoat and the stuff wouldn't stick.
So I painted it in Hammerite black smooth and it looks very nice.![]()
