can you guess these connectors?

A friend of mine has done a full restoration on his 1.8 pre facelift freelander. All is well apart from these two mysterious connectors that have no home..

they are on the left hand side of the engine bay (passenger side) they are part of the loom that comes from under the battery tray, which contains wiring for the fogs or spot lights.

Any advice much appreciated!

TBH my first thought, with that number of pins, was that they were ABS connections - but they're on the wrong side of the engine bay.

That's it a very clean engine bay - he's obviously put in a lot of elbow grease.

How many wires in each connector? Are they the headlight feed for the fogs/spots and piggy back the car wiring loom to the headlamp?

One is male the other female, plug em in together and see what happens.

Oh aye, itl be like new when he's finished!

I think he already has the headlights, fogs and spots plugged up so can't be them..

He did try to connect them together but the wrapping on the loom won't allow it . Can't imagine they would build a loom with a connection in it either .?

on the left hand side of the engine bay maybe fuel burn heater? but I think 1.8 didn't had it fitted

The owner has laid down some serious dough on that. Just look at the bolts he's used. Those are either new genuine (not cheap) bolts, or he's had them dipped in the factory yellow zinc.

Yeah hwhe spent a fortune, it is literally brand new. Rebuilt engine, IRD, gearbox and diff, all bushes, all steering, clutch, hydraulics, everything. I have a few more pics il share when I get chance!

I will get him to check the wire colours.

That looks better than one off the line. The owner clearly doesn't have a wife, or she doesn't occupy much of his time.

I know from experience, that that sort of finish takes an enormous amount of time to achieve.
