can things get any worse???? had my 110 county nicked 2 weeks ago. recovered, but seriously damaged, crushed wings, and inner wings both sides...anyway..waitin for her to get fixed, an insurance to pay out( after lots o arguments that she is NOT dead, and CAN be rebuilt). sooo , bought myself another 110 to be going on with.... real bargain it was!!!! TILL ... i decided to wash it an noticed.....DISASTER!!only 1 bolt holding the halfshaft in on the rear... all the others have silicone sealer holdin em in.... all sheared. no wonder the end of the halfshaft is loose... an i was whizzin down the motorway this morning, flat out passin lorries....omg i dare not even move it now.. anyone know the easiest way to get the sheared bolts out?
does this sort of thing only happen to me? and yes... i am prayin for a miracle...

Undo the remaining bolt, take the drive flange off and weld nuts to the tops of the remaining bolt shafts, spanner unwind them out .. :)

Much easier to say than do ... ;)

its even easter that way if you got access to a gas axe to heat it up at the same time :) .

if there well stuck theres a few hubs on flebay atm .

.

One of our defenders did this a couple of times and actually spat the shaft out. The boss turned up at work saying there was something wrong and it would only go if she put the diff lock in. Still don't know how she worked that out cos she had no idea what had happened. Never did find the half shaft.
Anyway, before you start getting heavy with welding kit etc. just try tapping the bolts round with a chisel or punch. Without the heads on they may be quite loose. And if you take the last bolt out and pull the half shaft, you might have enough thread to get a pair of grips on. Worked for me. Bit of heat maybe if they've been loctited.

if they are not loose give each one a tap on the end with a medium hammer, or if that doesn't work before getting the heat out(or if you don't have heat) get an air duster (compressed air in a can compressed with CO2 normally) then invert the can and spray the bolts this will freeze the bolts and should crack any rust or locktite on them

yay...spent an exciting day drilling...and drilling....and drilling....and miracle...1 yes just 1 sheared bold managed to be removed....going to have to tap the others for new bolts...tomorrows installment will be lots more swearing.....and hopefully a working landrover... thanks for the advice ...
