Can interior mirror be changed to show temp?

I noticed out of the corner of my eye, that the interior mirror displays degrees C and degrees F momentarily during start up. I've done a little digging around online and can't find an answer. Can it be converted to show outside temp rather than the compass direction? I realise I already have this option on the climate control panel, just wondering if anyone has done it?
