Hey all
I'm having issues with a leaky rear inner hub seal on my 1986 Defender 90. However, the vehicle was heavily modded before I bought it and I'm struggling to work out which axle I have, and hence which parts to order. I need to buy new stub axles, seals, gaskets, bearings and so on.
The engine in my 1986 Defender 90 is a 200tdi from a Discovery 1. The front axle is a 24 spline axle which I *think* is from a Discovery 1 with ABS (VIN from JA032850). I logically thought that my rear axle would be from the same donor Discovery but nothing adds up parts-wise.
Here's what I know about the rear axle:
If anyone can help me unravel this mystery I'd very much appreciate it. The poor landy is off the road until I can figure out what parts I need to order
Cheers
Marcus

Here's what I know about the rear axle:
- The half-shafts are 10 spline.
- The axle has disc brakes (I believe the original axle would have had drum brakes).
- The stub axle appears to have the number HRO 1150 23233Z5 JG5B A 11 stamped on the back (at least, I think that's what it is, it's hard to read). Is this a parts number? I can't find anything when Googling it.
- The stub axle has a notch through the thread, rather than a larger flat side like this one https://bearmach.com/media/catalog/...1322a5be86698c6cf881637727/F/T/FTC3183_10.JPG - pretty much every rear stub axle I can find online has this larger flat tabbed area rather than the notch, which I can only find on *front* stub axles.
- The diff pan is round and welded on, so it's not a salisbury axle.
If anyone can help me unravel this mystery I'd very much appreciate it. The poor landy is off the road until I can figure out what parts I need to order
