CAM Belt

How fequently should the cam belt be changed on a disco ? as in how many x thosand miles ?

It it a particularly difficult job or is it not beyond a beginner with a weekend, a few tools and a web tutorial/haynes manual ?

I'm guessing one has to dismantle a fair bit to get to the cam belt so with that in mind is there anything else I should think about changing/checking/replacing while I'm at it ?

LR say every 72,000mls or 6 yrs, but most owners change them long before that. Average seems to be about 36,000mls or 3-4yrs.

Not a hard job, need a small amount of special tools and don't do it in a rush.

Whilst doing this you might care to considor draining the cooling system and back washing the rad, replacing the hoses and washing out the intercooler.
