yeh, you can do all that.... those are pretty fked!!! even the dust seal is coming out with the piston!!!

I did mine the other week, and changed the discs too

just remember to hold 3 pistons and pop the 4th....

that's how I done mine.... didnt take long to sort all the pistons

that's a good tip,
Think I am gonna need to borrow me neighbor's compressor

if your pistons are 41mm you need earlier not ones youve highlighted stc1280 they are lager ones for 110s and later 90s,you need 606683,seal kit aeu1547

Yeah I spoke to the man at brookwells and ordered the 41mm piston kit repair kit. for the earlier calipers.
I got a bit confused, cause I thought I had non 90 front brakes:eek:
Entire calipers are cheap enough - are you sure you can be bothered to try and rescue?

I'm running on the c£40 ones from Paddocks - no probs yet with them

Have always thought that I'd be really p*ssed off if I replaced seals ans pistons and they then leaked

I looked at buying new calipers, but I'd prefer to rebuild these myself.
I love doing stuff like that, I really enjoy it:D:D

if usig air to remove pistons dont hold 3 otherwise you will only blow 1 out put a bit of wood a bit thicker than disc in between pistons and blow all four nearly out been stopped from coming out completely with the wood,as info disco and rrc classic share same pistons ,seals etc, is easier after removing pistons to split caliper to clean up and fit new seals and pistons

mmm good tip there jamesmartin!

I've always done it that way, on bikes and everything, and it does take a bit of time, doing 1 by 1....

will try that method next time!

Hey JP! I just noticed you have the same air gun as me:D

Oh and just to the right of that wonderful halfords offer (on the newspaper your using) what does it say??

Looks like jammie scum. er explain plese:D

hahahaha.. i actually dont know! sometimes i cant even understand my hand writting!!

the first bit I dont know... Jamie?dont think so.. maybe June?
the second part i think its 5cm... lol cant remember what i wrote there

Hmp:mad:

Fitted all the seals yesterday, which was a surprisingly easy job, but however 2 seals appear to be defective, ie they **** out fluid, I have stripped it all down assuming i had performed and error, bla bla it still leaks:mad:
I found one of the old seals fitted that and now we don't have an air leak(from pumping in air to the caliper) on that replaced seal.

So old seal makes a good seal, new seal I kak.
But now I can't get the pistons out of the caliper without damage:mad:

AAAARGH, I wanted it back on the road today, but now I have to wait for more seals to turn up:mad:
I am so angry I could kick a turnip:mad:

how come you cant blow it out ,i use britpart alot but dont use there or any other pattern brake seals ,unusual for one to leak ,when fitting make sure its in correct by pulling finger from inside bore to out across seal you should feel raised edge and smooth going in from out

Discovered why my seals were leaking:mad:

As you might be able to see, these 2 seals are uneven. one side is fatter than the other:mad:

All makes are fekking ****.

Got some proper jobs on the way, anyone know how long rimmer bros take to deliver bought yesterday?
