Hi all!

I am thinking of buying a Freelander and have seen two in a local paper. Both are from dealers.

The first is a 03 Masai Mara 2.0 TD4 and has done 30K, FSH. I can beleve the milage, it comes from a reputable dealer. Priced up at £6695. I do not have a PX so am looking for a good deal if I go for it.

The second is a 01-51 TD4 ES. I have emaild the dealer for more info eg milage and SH. This one is priced £3495.

I am after a bit of advice from any of you as to whitch model is the best to go for. The older one? due to it being an ES, depends on milage I know! or the Masai Mara due to the low milage?

I will be looking at testing these two next week as I have a few days off and have time to have a good look at them both.

Any thoughts would be great.

The 03 one sounds expensive, it's 9 years old. I would want full spec, i.e leather, air con, auto, aux heater, heated front screen, full gen rubber overmats, etc at that price, no questions over service history, in fact, perfect in every way, fully loaded with all options.
The 2001 is more realistic in price, but I would still argue that if mileage is "average" then options such as above are a must, as is a good SH and unmarked condition inside and out.
I spent £3000 on a 02 full spec ES 18 months ago, 72 k, with a few minor issues that I knew I could sort myself cheap enough to make it a good buy and a "keeper" for at least 5 years.
