Hi, I have done a search but still need advice please.

I need a new battery the old one (7 years old) has been on charge for 48 hours. Doesn't hold a charge and still struggles to start. I have checked with voltmeter that when running the meter reads around 13.5 volts DC so the power is getting there.

So does anyone know what is the correct one for my 97 Disco diesel ES is please?

Cold Cranking Amps (CCA) are the key to a good starting battery. The std one for your car is model 072 with a cca of 550, but I bought an Optima redtop last week, with a cca of 815 and that really turns her over well first thing in the morning.

I recently bought one from a local tyre shop for 60 notes (580CCA), was quoted 95 notes at a national tyre fitters!! so shop around. If chrimbo wasn't around the corner I would have bought a heavy duty one as other's suggested. I believe the minimum CCA rated battery you'll need is 570 CCA
