Buying 110 tdi

Looks nice in the pictures but the mileage is quite high. If I were you I'd be looking out for all the mechanical repairs in prospect. I'd have a good look at the chassis for rust (crossmember at the rear, outriggers etc.) and wobble all the bushes and bearings to see if there's any movement. The 300 engine wears quite well but the weak point is the cambelt - are there any receipts etc. to confirm that it's been changed regularly? Bulkhead condition is another issue. Have a close look at the A posts, especially at the top, for rust or overly hasty repairs, and in the footwells if it's possible to lift matting.

Pretty much all the parts are available, it's just a matter of making a best guess at the amount of upcoming work you have in prospect.

Rust,Rust and more Rust,go over the chassis and bulkhead with a fine toothcomb ,300 tdi is a good lump as said check timing belts been done, check difflock works and it goes into gear ok,i dont know what they drive like with a disco transfer box on

when buying mine I found trailer fitters on youtube to be very helpful.
haver a look a plenty as you soon realise what is and isn't good.
forget about the bodywork just make sure the engine, chassis etc is as good as you can get it.
