Bulkhead mod for engine swap - 19J to 200 tdi

Have seen how far back the 200 engine sits, and it looks terrible to deal with starter motor change, has anyone modified the bulkhead? Any pics please? Anything I've not thought of? Appreciate advice given.

Never heard of anybody interfering with their bulkhead to get a 200tdi in.

tis the 300 thats got different mountings, the 200 (Defender) should just plonk in (the disco needs a coupla mods but nothing bulkheaddy)

the starter motor sits in exactly the same place as it turns the flywheel, so its right up by the bellhousing

Maybe he means the turbo? The disco turbo's at the back, the depender ones on top innit? The only other thing for a disco change is the exhaust pipe, a depender one just slips in as is no mods dunnit??

Yep deepender is a straight fit. disco needs the eghaust down pipe modifying And yes Starter is a fooking bastid to get at once it's fitted

Alright guys thanks for that, Its a rebuild, easy to make any changes while it's in bits - knew about the turbo and pipes, but I was told the manifold/downpipe needed to come off to change starter motor, will just accept the extra time if it needed swaping!
Doesn't seem like a common mod. to help out.
