Just acquired a disco that has been standing for 2 years. The bulk head core plug had popped just before coming off road and its been standing since.

Are there any easy ways to replace the core plug?

Are there any sort of things i should be aware of when its replaced? chances of internal corrosion etc?

just make sure that mice have not made the hole into an new condo:eek::eek:

erc4996 is number ,clean hole edges with emery ,smear locktite around edge of core plug fit with socket that is loose fit in plug, tap in so that plug is just below block surface, rear plug is hardest to remove if you chisel a cross from one side to other in it, it will shrink diameter of plug making it easier to remove

Whats the easiest way to get to the core plug?

I was thinking of tearing the dash out, and getting thru the bulkhead to it.

it would be easier to remove engine if your sure it is plug ,do the other 4 too 3 on side one in front behind water pump housing, usually go from prolonged periods of running on water ,there all the same number
