If yours is an early one and you have to use four turns to the left first. Will someone enlighten me as to which year you don't need to do that. Because you certainly have to do that from 1998 to 2001 models.

Mine is 01/01/1996 and is a 4 turns first.

Had to use it once or twice

Hmmmmm.....

Just been looking on RAVE.

The 1999 and 2000/1 handbooks mention the need to do the 4 turns to the left first....and a lockout after 3 failed attempts

The 1997 and the 1999 Electrical Handbooks under the Security section make no mention of this first set of turns.....also mentions that you can have 5 attempts before being locked out for 10minutes...!!!

I think the answer is - Try not to let the battery go flat - replace the RF unit, get a good strong battery fitted, and if your going on hols - unlock the car, disconnect the battery, lock all the doors manually, then use the key to lock the drivers door....on return, unlock the drivers door on the key, reconnect the battery, do a resync by locking and unlocking using the fob buttons and key locking etc (or resync in the ignition as per the relevant year/handbook).....

If you have known battery issues, get a trickle solar charger..!!!

My 94/95 and my96,you dont have to do the first four turns to the left.I think it changed to having to do the turns half way thru 96.Also the indicators dont flash on my 95 ,but the" lights on" light in the instrument cluster does.

My "lights on" flash as well for every accepted turn - very handy so you know where you are - not easy to see on a sunny day, not that it's a problem here:)

Or buy a Nanocom.

Landrover don't make aircraft, but if they did.

AIRCRAFT service bulletin. 000/0001

Notice to all Aircraft drivers.

You have three attempts to start number one engine. Three fails will mean igniter circuits out of action for half an hour, you will miss your slot. So to avoid this after two attempts engine access doors must be opened and closed for three more tries. Please note that it has been brought to our attention that in the case of total engine failure over the Atlantic eventually you will hear a large splash. Do not be alarmed it is just your aircraft hitting the sea. :D:D:D

I feel I need to elaborate on my previous statement, I still have to turn 4 times left, but doing four times left then entering EKA kept registering as incorrect entry code and finally locked myself out.

Out of desperation I called the AA, he tried what the handbook said first and it came up as incorrect entry (this was about 45 minutes after I'd activated the 30 minute lockout) and his laptop, using what I believe was AutoData, said to hold in lock for 10 seconds then 4 turns left then the EKA.

That worked first time.

Well getting no flashes or anything when ido the first four left turns, looks like I'm gonna have to test the switches in the motor unit

Can I enter my eka VIA a nanocom ? Looks like I may be getting one if you can, as this code does not want to work! Tried lots of times now and still Nowt
