Good morning folks.
I have bucket seats in my 90 which are knackered.
I am looking for replacements but strongly considering going back to standard as it was a real pain in the butt getting the passengers seat out to get to battery and don't want that sort of hassle all the time.

Therefore, before i do this, my question is:

How do you fit bucket seats in such a way that you can quick release them to get to the battery compartment if you need to?????

I tend to keep gloves, first aid kit etc in this compartment so really do need use of it.

If anyone has pic's to show what they have done or can recommend the right type of seat for narrowness, as i am using with a standard defender centre seat also, that would be helpful also.

Cheers.

cheers guys, will run search now.
Sorry.
Posted thread after having to unbloke a very nasty toilet and feeling like sh*t so wasn't thinking, more trying not to throw up.

Should have done that first. (thread search, not sick lol)

have run a quick search but can't seem to find anything that shows a crafty way of making bucket seats quickly removable!!!

Thanks for the wing nut suggestion 11069, anybody any other suggestions?

There not easily removable thats why. :D

Im sure someone on here made a way for them to hinge open on the front of the seatbase but the only way yo do that is by fitting reclinable buckets.

Buckets are designed to be solid lumps so there snug and safe.

Do what iam doing and get modular or elite seats. more snug than standard seats and the base lifts out too.

make a subframe with homemade hinges 4 off, make hinges by bending 2mm or 3mm x 25mm flat bar, Bend it over a M8 bolt and then squeeze bar in a vice until, you end up with a P shape. then cut P in 2 length wise so you end up with 2 12.5mm P

Weld one to subframe. Bolt tuther side, to the lip where the seatbox meets the bulkhead. (if the seat back tilts forwards)

If the seats are solid fit to front of seatbox. then insert 40mm m8 bolt thru both P's and the seat will tip. all yu have to do then is fit an easily removable pin to the remaining 2 hinges insert pins to lock seats in position. Remove pins to tip seat.

Some good and descriptive suggestions there.
Thanks.

oh and as for the toilet, lets not go there lol. That was one dirty pond you deffinately don't want to play in... and the logs were really nasty.
