Best stereo and 4 speakers for Landrover 90 station wagon anyone? Got the normal sized din 1 gap and I want 4 speakers (2 under dash and putting other two in horse shoe headliner trim - rear top). I'm and oldie oldskool, so I play a lot of Acid, trance and clubland stuff, but also classical and opera when in the mood. Don't want loads of bass and don't want to bother with an amp. 4" back and 6" front (will have to use spacers on front passenger side dash to clear wiper motor (200tdi). Round speakers preferably.

So much choice on ebay etc. I just want someone who knows their music systems to give me a quick shopping list. Thanks in advance if you respond.

My stereo is not great but I mainly listen to AC/DC and Black Sabbath so the quality of the speakers doesn't really matter, just as long as its louder than the gearbox

Mind you, some of the heavy rock and metal stuff is over-produced in a crisp and clear way though, so it's not all distortion. I go as heavy as Jane's Addiction. Any further and I need the old paracetamol :)

Couple of 9x5 or what ever they were, cheap sh1tty speakers off eBay, a cheap amp and an MP3 player plugged into it, total cost was around 15 quid, eBay auctions!

I'd have to use spacers. I dunno how thick, but I don't want to be banging my head on em. Also, I'm guessing whatever stereo I get, I'll be able to alter the front and back balance? Then again, I might be plying the back off and putting a sliding window in to cut off the dogs barking, in which case the front would be better. I can't find anyone's pictures on the site using the search bar and different words? Just noticed a few bubbles I need to glue back from the back too :eek::eek:
