Right so I payed extra, £25 odd quid for front and the same for rear oe bushes, as opposed to the £6 for each pack of non oe from paddocks.

I phoned them to make sure that the ones i would be ordering were manufactured by landrover, but surprise surprise they have that blue badge!!

If id payed £6 for each set and got britpart then fair doos, but i dont like paying extra money for a crock of ****, so are they as crap as the rest of their products? And do I have a leg to stand on as far as any reimbirsment goes as I really need to fit the bushes tomorrow?

Cheers in advance!

Ollie

britpart are one of three wholesalers that sell full range of lr parts they sell genuine same part as lr oem same make as lr and pattern some very good some **** poor, paddocks are britparts biggest customer apart from the mod i believe,it depends whether your supplier is trying to pass of pattern for oem ,i use them every day as well as the others under their price list for most parts they list the different choices but do retailers give you options

I havent had problems with britpart,
Personally i have brit part poly bushes on my landy just now, fitted them to my last one as well.

As for the polybushes i have had no probs with them and seem to be holding up well been fitted 2 years to my 90 and still giving a smooth ride and i do loads of offroading

send em back. If they are in a britpart bag they are not genuine. you paid the premium for a premium part (and the 12month warrenty) dont settle for some other ****.

stick to GENUINE!

oops!

I agree - you paid for genuine, you should get OEM with the green oval.

Do they have the new 24 month warranty btw?

I had the same with a front hub I bought - I even asked if it had Timken bearings and was Britpart. They said yes and no (can't remember who now though ). Got a Britpart and sent it back, then ebay bought a genuine part. Cost more but brought peace of mind.

oem doesnt come with green oval even though it is same part as lr one thats the difference between oem and genuine ,britpart supply oem ,genuine as well as pattern parts

Britpart pattern bushes are absolute rubbish. Just installed the front set a few weeks ago: result, the big radius arm rubbers were completely gone (and I mean gone, nothing left!) in less than 1000 km. Had to jury-rig a replacement made with sisal rope and an old tube because I was deep in the bush (that hand-made rope lasted 200 km!), then at the first village bought local shoes made with old tires, and cut enough rubber out of them to take me back to town, 700 km away.

Bought original LR bushes and rubbers after that...

britpart poly were rubbish harsh ride, wore out in a few months the rear radius arm axle mounts were oval the thick walled tube was running in a slot instead of a tight fit. The dronts were no better the front axle radius arms were falling apart and again oval'd.

Honestly paddock 6 quid items out lasted them 10 fold. I don't mind the cheapies cos even genuine ones wear out after a year or so so cheapies last 11 months its great. Yearly exercise swap bushes for MOT.

Cheers for the replies guys, I phoned paddock this morning and although they say their britpart, apparently they often package other peoples products (i dont know how true that is though?).

They did mention that genuine bushes should be marked or feature a number on the rubber, something mine dont at all even on the whole set of front and rear. I really needed to fit them as my 90 did feel in a bad way. I was told though if I took some photos to prove they were the cheaper versions I'd be refunded the difference. So the best of a bad job really, I'd just resent paying top dolla for crap parts. If I pay crap money for crap parts that isnt so bad, atleast they'll be easier to replace next time round tho!! :p

One of my bushings I wasnt able to remove tho was between the passenger side trailing arm and the axle as the bolt was corroded to the inner tube of the bush, any suggestions?

Cheers

Cut it off, hammer it through and replace nut and bolt;)

I fitted the yello Polly bush set which I believe are Brit part, I bought them from Paddock.
I had them fitted 14 months or 12,000 miles ago and they seem fine. The first time I went greenlaning I did stop as I thought I had a puncture. The ride seemed rough just like a flat. After about a month or two they settled in and the ride seems fine. From my experience I would have no problem fitting them again.

At the moment the bolt is siezed to the inside of the bush so even if I cut the ends off it'll still be attached to the axle, I'll wd40 it like crazy today and see how it goes tho. ;)

Re quality thanks for the heads up, I'm fitting the bushes anyway as frankly it cant make the ride any worse than it was (touch wood) I'll give some updates later when im finished.

Thanks again

spread the mount on the axle and cut bolt inside mount.

The options you have are to either cut both the head of the bolt and the nut of and spread the mount to release.

Cut the nut off and hit with a big hammer and drift. You could try heating it up before hitting it.

In the past i have cut the nut off and welded a bolt (M8) on to the head of the bolt and connected it to the slide hammer(with a nut inside the adaptor) It started to move quiet quickly.

Try a little diesel on it as a realeasing agent has worked for me in the past
