Ive see a few threads about Britpart, and other non OE suppliers, and some of the reports aren't that good.

Here's a wee story for you all.

The front brake calipers on my D2 were getting sticky, I nearly had a stroke at the price of originals, and the motor factor prices were still around £100 plus vat.

Spoke with a local independant supplier here in NI, called BLRC, they were able to supply pattern calipers at a very reasonable 30 plus vat, fine, i know they wont be as good as OE, but i will overhaul the originals over the winter and have them in a box.

I decided to replace the flexi hoses at the same time, they were the originals, and i thought i would go for Braided steel, i use them on all my motorbikes, and am well pleased with the feel they give, so BLRc were able to provide a set of Britpart braided, for all 4 wheels at £30 plus, very reasonable thought I.

Fitted the hoses and calpers on Saturday afternoon, and lo and behold, I had a leak, not from a flange as you might think, but from the swaged joint were the braided steel is formed into the flange fitting.

Surely these sorts of things should be tested when made? and certainly before being sent out for fitting.

To cut a long story short, i contacted BLRC, and not only would they replace the faulty part, ( as they ought) but had a manager DELIVER the replacement to me as the car was off the road, about a 40 min each way journey.

So a big pat on the back for BLRC, and a wake the F++k up for Britparts testing arm.

We can be quick to criticise, so its only fair that a LR shop gets credit where its due

cheers
