M8 of mine has a series 2, and is thinking of breaking her up and flogging the bits. It crossed my mind to take it off him and maybe try and bring it back to the land of the living.........is that an expensive idea lol i rekon so, but thought i would ask opinions before i help him dismantle it.
If i dont take it for restoring ask me for any bits u may need as it seems pretty complete. Engine aparently only has 80k on it and he said the gear box was good before he left it to die in his garden.
What do u rekon?

get it back on the road, dont matter what condition its in, ther always worth doing
this was the state of mine when i saved it from the scrap, :)

Aye i know, but i only have a lock up to work in with no power!! Just looked at that thread of the lucky sod with tractors and a massive shed to work in lol, demoralizing or what!! i will take some piks next week of it once he gives me the docs etc see what u think.
chasis looks shagged so wud be lookin at a new one straight away. and how hard is it to get bits for them if i do decide to bite the bullet?
cheers 90

yer can get most off ebay , or paddocks, craddocks stock most series replacement parts mostly brit part etc, chassis will be around £650.00 unless you can buy an unfinished project for £250.00 with a galv chassis then yer ok, trust me they turn up ocasionaly!
im not fussed what i spend on my series2 but you can do a nice job of a budget rebuild. best off going round breakers to find the really odd bits of panels etc, just about any engine will go in them so thats not a prob, just depends how interested you are to get it back on the road, its a shame to see them stripped for scrap, ther getting a bit thin on the ground now int they. and in 50 years time ther wont be many people saying , "right , i'v started to restore my disco or range rover sport, "
looking foreward to the pics skanner
