Hi
I new to this so bear with me.
I have an 52 defender TD5 XS. Some time ago i got lazy and had a chap change the front pads. Straight after the brakes became soft but bearable. Months after i damaged and replaced the pipe going to the driver rear caliper. Again brakes soft. Since, I found that the front driver front caliper had seized so replaced the pistons in the caliper. The brakes seemed to bleed ok for a bit and then found that they got soft and eventually needing to pump. I have found air in mainly the front passenger side every time and since also replaced the pistons in this caliper too. At no point have i lost fluid.
So.... decided that the master cylinder could be faulty having read the many threads on the web. Having changed the master cylinder i cant get any air or fluid to come through the passenger front caliper or the pipe leading to it with the exception of a couple of time. I was told the shuttle may need to be centralised so I have attempted various ways to do this without any luck. Also tested the abs relay and seems ok. Dont want to start taking modulator apart or replacing unless no option cos it looks like a bugger to get to.
My first issue is to get fluid running. Then i will be able to see if the master cylinder has solved my continued air in front brakes.
Any ideas out there?
