you can repair them usually you just need to remove top and clean vanes and rotor the vanes fly out centrifugaly and often stick, the union that vac pipe goes on is one way valve with small ball cleaning also helps this ,if you get stuck i could let you have one

I've got an issue with my brakes (still). Pedal is spongey, have to sometimes pump it 2 or 3 times to build up enough pressure to get decent braking.

Pedal is hard when engine stopped. Does not fall when engine starts. Fluid is correct level but well used, darkish in colour.

I've got a spare vacuum pump..tempted to buy a master cylinder and a servo and change the lot..i just dont know where the problem lies...
 
only air or cotaminated fluid or ballooning flexi will make pedal spongy,servo only gives your foot more power so will show up any prob before you notice without servo assistance

do you remove the pump first then take top off, or just take top off in situe. Loz.
 
you can take it of in situ
fitted hose pipe to servo and on to another vehicle,made no diffrence? started the landy finger over pipe vacum so pump ok.must be servo? there is a little square plug that you can unscrew, bit like a mini oil drain plug vacume there also.so is it change the servo?
the pedal is right at the top. cheers for your replys. I have some disco servos but no series 3s.any one got one kicking about?
