have done a search but nowts come up. bit of an odd one this but i am sure someone in landy land will know the answer.

while changing the brake pads on the disco all was going well untill the last one, n/s front. can't get the pads to fit.pushed the pistons back as far as they will go but just nowhere near enought to get both pads in.looking at the disc it is offset to the caliper i e.bigger gap one side of the disc than the other. the o/s one is dead centre to the disc. have i been given the wrong pads or have i just got an odd caliper that was put on by the previous owner.bloody confused now and don't want to put the old pads back. it's a 1998 disco 1

many thanks ron.

Not that then

Is the disc running in the centre of the little space at the bottom and top, cant be that far off or it would foul the disc. other than taking cap off reservoir and squeezing pads right back I'm stuck on this one

Check with other calipers to see how they are fitted compaired to one your having a probem with.

Or take the caliper off fit pads then see if it goes back together.
Are the discks the same on both sides?

unvented discs. n/s one runs about 1/4 inch from backplate o/s a good 1/2 inch from back plate, both discs are the same. will try to put a pic up as soon as i can get photo bucket or image shack to work.(bloody computers) once again. many thanks for the replys. very greatfull.
