Hi All,
OK so another question on this axle rebuild I am going through at the moment.

I have split the calliper (yes I know they are a bugger to re-seal but I have plenty of time, although now I have said that I'm sure the axle on the truck will fail tomorrow lol)

Anyway.... Now ordering the seals etc however I have noticed that one of the galleries is completely blocked. These are single pipe callipers for solid discs. What is the best way to unblock it, what should I leave it socking in lol

I have pushed both pistons back on that side of the calliper and they both go back and push fluid out of the single gallery hole that is not blocked.

Hope that makes sense. Picture below with blockage circled in the normal colour for issues RED :)

I hear what you are saying Datatek, however I have time and this is my little shed project at the moment :)

Yer, guess your right James. I'll strip the pistons and seals out and then give it a good soak then start proding and blowing.

I'll post some pictures of them once they are done.

calipers are very low tech beasts and your life is not in danger

i recently had similar problem with a BRAND NEW caliper!

anyway, stripped it down and its very simple

if you remove the bleed nipple and also the blanking plug that is fitted (they are drilled through the blanking plug hole) you will have access to all the galleries

mine was only sealed with an O ring and went back together dead easy :)
