Brake booster bolt removal tips?

HI folks just a quick one, anyone got any tips on how to get to the last two bolts, just below the two upper bleed nipples on the side of the brake booster? Have removed the coolant expansion tank but just cant seen to get in and get a grip. Stripped knuckles and air turned blue!

Well kids, Daddy had to figure it out the hard way. If you look at the page in RAVE

It clearly looks like 2 bolt heads. I didn't find that, I had two nuts with a bit of threaded shaft protruding. I've spent the last week trying to get those nuts to budge, got friends in to help even a local mechanic up the road popped in but nothing. Finally one of us had the sense to look at the other side, lets say the inboard side and there were the bolt heads. Bit fiddly but came of quite easily (you have to take the clutch cylinder off to get access). :doh:

So either Rave got the picture spectacularly wrong or someone at some point had reversed the bolts. Unfortunately I think its the former especially as the nuts appear to be welded.

Undoing fixed nuts has always been quite difficult.

Dredging up an old thread, as I'm about to take the brake booster out myself.

As for the fixing nuts, mine is also opposite way round from RAVE, glad I came on here and did a search first!

Anyway, bit I'm not so sure about, step 16 in RAVE "Release booster push rod form brake pedal"...

Do you have to be double-jointed and good at fumbling in the dark, or am I missing an obvious way to get at this with a clear line of sight?

Being a Dwarf with broken wrists helps a lot.

Ah well, that went better than expected. Didn't need to removed the booster in the end.

I was trying to replace a sized bleed screw, and finally managed to get some decent purchase on it with a pair of vice grips once the coolant reservoir was out of the way.

Also bleeding the modulator was a hell of a lot easier while the coolant expansion tank was out of the way.
