OK so i'm going to get a slating for asking this question but it has some relivence

For a while my near side swive joint has been dripping the old EP oil it was (prob originaly) filled with, so went to the local independant dealer and pciked up a new oil seal ring and a bag of one shot oil (Brit Part). After taking the wheel off and fixing the leak in the break system i decided it was a) getting too dark, and b) too cold to even contemplate breaking the join in the axel to get to the oil seal (good job i did'nt as I now find out mine has a diferent type of seal than i was sold) - so just filled it up with the one shot.

I then looked at the other side and found it was empty as well.

I then went to my local main dealer and got a packet of original LR one shot and put it in the off side.

So my simple question is which one is best - the reason i ask is that the BP is quite a lot thicker - which I guess will have less tendence to leak, but will it be any good at keeping the CV joint together (although the off side one seems to have lasted for a while running dry:eek:), the LR one being thiner will obviously get into the CV joint better but I am expecting to find some dripping out sooner or later

I guess only time will tell, but just wondering if anybody else has fallen foul of the BritPart oil.

BTW if anybody wants an oil seal for a later swivel joint then i have one that i can send out if you want - if you have the desire/will/insanity to try and do this job
