Not sure on the sizes, but some won't fit if you've got tow bar bracket's or a steering guard fitted to the same mounting point's, have a look on fleabay ... quite a few there.

seems you got the answer for the jate rings part, although ive got welded from paddocks and they seem ok(although everyone sez that till they go wrong!!!).The jate rings are what you recover from, other recovery points are availible, the shackles are what you use to connect your recovery point to ya rope/strop/tatty bit of string. The shackle shape determins what its called, d being in a D shape, bow not really in the shape of a bow but more like a rounded c I didi name em!Any way there was avid on here a few months bak saying "Only a dunce would recover using a D shackle" Dunno why. I use a D shackle over me 500 mm tow ball

And bow shackles on the front, on me steerig guard and jate rings before that.Think bow shackles are les likely to crumple flat strops up

Twotting computer!!!!! half way through a reply and it shuts down to configure!!!!!!!

OK so i need 4 forged jate rings big enough to go over the steering guard (that i've not got yet) and over the tow bar bracket, a D shackle to go over my ball, thats 5 recovery points,,,,ropes or strops??? 8m 12 tonne? 2? 1 front and 1 back or 1 on each corner?

I must be a dunce toothen, cos I use D shackles to attatch my strop to my tow ball. It's the best way of making sure it won't fly off the ball.

main difference between a bow shackle and a 'd' shackle is the shape, bow shackles are used more for lifting spread loads as you can fill the bow up with more slings, a 'd' shackle is usually used with a single sling.
bow shackles are usually 'alloy bow shackles' and are made of alloy:D this gives more strength for a smaller size. 'd' shackles are usually high tensile steel and lift less for a given size.
there are loads of variations to these though so it's more of a case of knowing what you need and what to look for.

Ropes have some 'give', strops don't, unless they're KERRs ... ;)
