My securtity card is missing, and from the manual I understand this to contain numerous peices of critical information.

Are they available from a dealer, and un-expensive?

Also, whilst I have a print out from the garage of all work carried out since the expiry of the three year warranty, I don't the the service book [which I'd like to keep up to date from now on].

Are these available too?

Many thanks,

Will

Any main Landy Dealer should give you the information FREE OF CHARGE, but be sure to take ID and the vehicle reg doc.

I took mine to the original selling dealer still within warranty. They were very UN-helpful to start with, and so I pointed out they were so "couldn't ****ing care less" when they sold the car, not only did they not bother putting the security gen in the little cards provided which is a vital part of the pre-delivery services, they couldn't even bother their arses to stamp the damned owners service manual with their rubber stamp. maybe they were ashamed their name was going to be attached to such appalling service.

TAGGARTS of MOTHERWELL

I wouldn't trust them with a Dinky toy, and will never ever do business there.

Ah - you mean they're a typical LR dealer?

I'll book the brick in for it's 60k service in say a fortnight, make sure I get the security info FOC and then cancel the service the week after.

Farnel's in Guisley [Leeds] have always been obnoxious bastards, even when servicing my [superb] Rover 75 [for the one and only time].

Thanks for the heads up,
Will

Ign Key Number- Taggarts "forgot" to fill in the numbers on the cards provided, but they "remembered" to remove the numbered tag from the keyring. Scumbags .... they did every thing they could to make sure the owners have to come back to them - and pay.

Man, I've yet to come across a member satisfied with a LR main dealer.

Oh make no mistake - I am perfectly satisfied with all LandRover main dealers.

I am perfectly satisfied they are all, as a breed, the most obnoxious, supercillious, cheating, and deceitful people on the planet. One has to wonder who trains them to be like that. It can hardly come naturally.

That's slightly unfair CharlesY! I have known them to try really hard to be helpful, it's just that incompetence on a massive scale always got in the way. The worst dealer of any sort I ever came across was a LDV dealer, who managed to fit a set of plugs without gapping them, and then pretended that the engine was meant to run on three cylinders. Come to think of it though, they are now a Landy dealer - probably headhunted for the job. And then there was the Bedford dealer who filled it up with water and charged me for anti-freeze. And fitted a headlight that dipped to the right. But I DID once get a great helping hand from a Landy dealer in Wooler - he's probably gone out of business by now.:)
