ok, had a search and still have a couple questions.

landrover defender 90, tyres 235/85

noted that unless its a disco 2tonne bottle jack with curved, regualr bottlejacks wont fit very well?

also need to be sure theres enough lifting height for changing wheels.

so some of you out there must a) have a defender on 235/85 +
b) have a bottle jack that aint from a disco

can anyone point me toward a suitable bottlejack that has enough lift, and how to go about solving the non curved problem?

mines a 56 plate and has the original windup type but never use it have a highlift jack.
but as regards will it reach high enough most bottle types have a screw out center and if you put under the axle (be sure to chock another wheel first) you dont have to lift through the suspension travel to get the wheel off the deck

I got both the disco hydraulic one and the 109 screw type. both are double lift and plenty high enough. could be persuaded to part with the screw one for a few beer tokens :)

got me 2 tonne bottle jack, great and compact just one or two problems...handle is **** poor, guess abit of piping'l sort that out, however its tiny!!with only ten cm of lift its pretty freakin useless haha!would be fine for a slitty mind....

well if anyone knows where I can get hold of a disco one NOT on ebay please let us know!and cheers ratty, if ya ever go up to kirkby bring it with ya!;)
