bosch fuel pump

I'm not sure if I have the right fuel pump on my discovery 300 tdi manual

I have looked at the numbers stamped on

ERR 4046
R509-1

Aren't these the ones that need a fly by wire?

err4046 is cable contolled egr pump not fly by wire edc the wire on it goes to potentiometer for egr system doesnt have to be connected for pump to work

Still not blanked off my sedimenter yet. If I want to check my pick up tubes on sender, do I just unscrew it? Can I leaves the fuel lines connected whilst I do this?
I've been trying to find out what size the cooland pipes to the bulkhead are, don't suppose you know? I thought the were 16mm?
