Hi I unknowingly bought a 53 disco which has storage boxes in place of bootspace seats and I really need the extra room expanding family is it a big job to get these put In?

Sure your Insurance company will be rubbing their hands together when you tell them you've modified your vehicle to add seating. If it were me I'd shift it on and buy a proper 7 seater instead. But check with insurers 1st though, as I could be wrong.

Seven sweaters and 5 sweaters are differently registered. Insurers need to be informed as does the dvla.

I had a five seater myself and wanted to convert, too much hassle and money for me so sold on. Easiest way forward.

As a byline, my recollection was that all seven seaters had air suspension to cope with the extra weight, but on 5 seaters it was an option. Could be wrong though and sorry if I am

GreenHornet is right about the back springs. All 7 seaters had the air suspension and had type-approval. There were no 7 seaters without air suspension. So if you have springs at the back, beware as the insurance may be invalidated. If you have air - good luck. I would think that the easiest way is to swap the vehicle though. Sure, it'll cost a bit, but I bet it wouldn't be too much different that trying to source seats of the right colour and fitting them.

As pedals said, change vehicle is easier. By the time you have purchased all the bits and messed with the paperwork, the little difference in cost is negligible.

ive fitted some to mine, to be honest it was quite a job as all i bought was the seat, i had to make mounts in the floor for the seats to lock in to and buy seat belts, i found rr front latch into the seat holster, but i didnt have the trim fittings so had to make it up as i went along, also the although the seatbelt anchor points are quite obvious they arent taped so need doing. mine work ok but would look better with the propper plastic fittings arround the holes ive cut in the plastic trims where the seat belt and mountings fit behind them.
good luck but if i had to do it again i would just sell and buy a 7 seater
