I'm thinking of getting one, but would I not be better off plumbing in the sender as close to the inlet fannymould as possible so as to get a more accurate reading rather than near the wastegate like normal? Or does the pressure stay constant even after the intercooler?

Any advice?

Its normal to tap off the inlet "fannymold" then you get a true reading of what pressure the engine is getting! and you do get very small losses in the system ie across the intercooler.

So fannymold for me fella ;)
 
Fair enough then, is it just best to make a hole in the pipe leading into it and stick a small piece of tube into it and take the boost gauge off that? Or is that my bodging side taking over?
 
What engine are you fitting the boost gauge to? I used to have a 300 series disco that had a boost gauge fitted. It was piped to the blanking off plate that used to feed the EGR. Hope this helps. Dan
 
this is mine, i used some old fish tank air line as i had loads of it, does the job fine :)
