hey guys,

I have a 2003 DII which I need to replace the tyres on.

I have an option to buy a set of boost alloys with cooper discoverer ATR 265/70/16 that have only done 1000 miles.

the coopers have been fitted to an 05 defender.

few questions:

will the boost alloys fit my disco?

how will the tyres perform off road?

thanks

You'll need to get some adaptors to make the Boosts fit your D2 - Rakeway make them ( Land Rover ) but they're not cheap!

I had some 255\70x16 ATRs on my D2 before I fitted BFGs. They're a very good road tyre, and surprisingly good on ice/light snow and in the rain. Fantastic in the rain actually! BUT they quickly get gummed up with wet mud and to be frank I'd say they're only good for very very light offroading - as in driving over a level grassy field. A bit of mud, or any reasonable incline and they lose their grip very quickly.

Don't get me wrong, I was very happy with the ATRs 90% of the time, but as I said if you're planning on going into mud then I'd look elsewhere, especially as you'll need adaptors to fit them.
