I am guessing you have not hooked up the bonnet cable?

look underneath and you can see where the cable fixes too, it’s on the left of the center bit?
Then move it to the left with your finger I can do it on mine with the grill on so you should be able too.

just took a couple of pics might help 1 from the top and 1 from below. Mine a 96 but think the same.

looking good btw.

Thanks Both were right the Bloody thing was staring me in the face, just moved it with my finger and it opened. Must be aligned right coz it opens and closes perfect, just ned the cable connected. Took it back off for now as need more work in engine bay, Got engine harness ready to plug in. Not sure what to start next, all pipe work just about plumbed in, need heater box water tub also windscreen washer tub and air filter box in there somewhere doesn't look like there's enough room for that lot but I know it can be done. Just need to ask loads more questions

I'm new here and I'm not really sure how to open up a new thread, so I'm just gonna ask here.

I accidentally broke the cable for releasing the bonnet and now I need to know if there is a way to open the bonnet without it???

Please help. Thanks in advance.

Do as in marjon's post above, as you move the lever with one hand a whack on the bonnet with the other can help make it open. Remove grill for better access.
